i ve just bought a new notebook
    it s a pentium m 1,73ghz, 2gb ram and a 256 mb nvidia geforceGo 6600
i thought that with this laptop i could play games, and i ve just tried GTA vice city...
at the beginning, it goes fine, but after some minutes the imgae goes at 3 or 4 fps....and this happens weather with a 640x480 resolution or 1280x760.....if i pause the game and wait a while, i can play another 4, 5 minutes...
i don t think it s normal that a laptop like that cant play a game well....
do you think it s a hardware limitation or a problem with drivers, settings, etc??
thank you and sorry for the bad english

Sounds like a virus to me. When the game becomes really slow, try Alt+Tabbing out of the game and then opening Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and then viewing which process (other than your game) is eating up your CPU.

Your 6600 Go should be able to play vice city just fine. It could be a something like a virus or maybe the game needs to be patched or your drivers need updating.

These are the only things i can think of.

Yeah, that's a nice setup there, shouldn't have any problems regarding whether or not your laptop is capable of playing games.

I agree, try scanning for viruses. I use Avast! 4.6 Home Edition, works great and it's free. I'd also do an antispyware scan, Ad-Aware is good for that.

A driver update for your video card should be beneficial as posted by Darkforce.
