    My current specs are:

    AMD Turion 1.6ghz x2
    Nvidia go6150
    80gb HD
    1gb ram
    uses XP (what I prefer)

I have the option to trade for a barely used HP dv5z with the following specs:

    AMD QL-60 1.9ghz Dual core
    AMD 780G "Puma" chipset
    2gb DDR2-800 RAM
    ATI HD 3200 GPU
    120gb HD

Space makes no difference to me, so the three things im looking at are the processor, ram and gpu. Would it be worth paying 150-200 bucks to upgrade? Will I notice a significant increase from a 6150 to a HD3200 IGP since they are both integrated?

I'd say so, I have a tablet (tx2500z) with the ati hd 3200, and i like it, now it isn't something where you are going to play any recent games at good settings but with that said, I do play cod4 on all low 800 x 600 online and it is doable and fun, also play tf2 on 800 x 600 mediums online and that is very fun. can also handle assassins creed, bioshock, and gears on (very) low settings... the 6150 would play those at a slideshow if that, hope this helps you

Do it. The 6150 has barely a quarter of the real world rendering capability of the HD3200.

    Hy,

anyone tried red alert 3 on this IGP? Do you think HD3200 is powerful enough for it?

definitely do it, i used to have that same laptop i think and while the video card was alright, ive heard the 3200 is the best IGP out right now, and plus like others have said your increasing about everything else a bit as well. go for it, 200 dollars is worth that upgrade

yep, as others have said, the HD3200 alone would be worth the difference... but with the other upgrades it's a no brainer.... go get em!

Yeah you definitely should! You're getting a better CPU, more RAM, more HDD space, and a far better GPU :D

The only reason I see not to is if you're short on money or plan on buying something else.
