The second digit denotes the "ranking" of the video card within each generation, so technically, the HD 4570 is more powerful - however, the 5xxx series does make improvements over the 4xxx series, so that they're pretty much on par.

You can take a look at the mobile GPU benchmarks list here, but take the exact numbers with a grain of salt. The HD 4570 is at place 98, while the HD 5470 is at place 93, but the HD 5470's higher rank may just be due to the newer Core i3 processors, which give the HD 5470-equipped notebooks a boost in 3DMark benchs.

The guys at notebookcheck tested the 4570 with almost all the lappys with bugged drivers that hit the memory speed like crazy so the GPU is extremely unfairly down ranked; for example, ..... they say CoDMW2 should run with 18 fps with med settings on 4570 ..... here at my laptop with a lame C2D T6600, I play CoDMW2 1366*768,all extra/on,4x AA with an average FPS of 60.5 with no overheating what so ever ..... So out of my experience I think the 4570 HD a great GPU .... you can even play Dragon age origins with the physx effects on (running on the CPU with some heat :( ) and all very high settings,1366*768,4x AA with an average FPS of 27.4 which is quite smooth ....

I think the 4570 + your i5 CPU will be quite the beast .... and since the 5470 is the weak link in the 5xxx series I think you should ask someone who tested it to give u some benchs or actual performance in games to be able to compare
