Is there 780m sli worth the extra 400£?

What i mean is that the website im buying my laptop from has the 780m sli over 8970m crossfire for extra 400£.

Nope. 8970m xfire destroys any xfire enabled game at full settings at 1080p already. Unless you intend to game on an even higher resolution on an external monitor then you probably won't see a tangible improvement for the massive additional investment.

wt op is asking is 8970m cfx vs gtx780m sli

if this is a single card comparison i would take the 8970m anyday, but on multicard setup i.e. cfx and sli, take the nvidia because it causes less driver issues, cfx is problematic from what i've heard whilst SLI, although not problem free, seems to cause less trouble compared to cfx
