Whenever I try to join a game through cs or steams server window it just brings up the server info the layers in game box is blank and then 1 second later the ping goes from whatever it was to around 1020ms and doesnt join. The odd time if I'm lucky it will join through my favourite servers on xfire(a game IM prog). I have tried reinstalling the network drivers several times on my dell e1705/9400 laptop and just underwent a full reformat hoping to end this problem...to no avail. has anyone else encountered this??

    thanks in advance

maybe it wont let you connect because its blocked by your firewall. I'm pretty sure when you install steam and downlaod cs, when you launch it, it'll say if you want to block it or not (windows firewall). Maybe you accidently blocked it. Go to your windows fire wall to see if its blocked. Also if you use another firewall instead of windows, you should check if you blocked that. Hope your problems are solved
