cus it's soldered into the motherboard. anyways i have that exact same laptop you're looking at buying. and if you want any comparison. i can run rainbow six vegas 2 in 800x600 with no anti aliasing if i over clock the card, without overclocking it's a bit laggy. it's a fast computer for everything else though, just the graphics card isnt amazing. im still looking up graphics cards drivers and info about over clocking to see what i can get out of it..

Laptop GPU's are all made using different sizes for differing models. Unless it says USER UPGRADEABLE, it cannot be upgraded.

Forget the gateway, wait 2 months before getting a laptop. First read this article@: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4445

basically its a external graphic solution available for laptops built with the input they're asking for. Its incredible and I wish I didnt get my m1530 half a year ago and waited for these new lines of laptops to come out. It allow your laptop to use high end ATI graphic cards in SLI, and you will be able to upgrade your video card there after.
So heres the deal: Your laptop will run on an intergrated GPU when not plugged in: saved battery life like crazy. Once you get home, plug in the external GPU, and you'll run games like desktop dream machines.

And you can spend all the extra money forgoing an dedicated GPU on a better screen, better CPU, Ram etc.

Thats what i'll definately do if I were you.
