I am able to over clock but unable to maintain it. Whenever I lunch a 3d application the clock automatically sets back to the default clock speed. I tried auto over clock settings and it still does not work. I cannot bench the over clocked settings in ATI tray tools or 3d marks.

The only way for me to run 3d gamines in over clocked mode is to set hot key and press it during gaming, but if i alt tab or something, it reverts back to default setting.

    Help anyone?

There is a program that overclocks, Winclk, ATI's own tool used for overclocking, or so I'm told, the only thing is that it will *I believe* always keep the overclocked settings so you have to manually turn it off/turn settings back to normal. Also, I'm not sure whether it is vista compatible (if that's what you're running).

It is the problem with Powerplay. Disable powerplay before OC.

    Cheers,

Hm. Did you try Ati Tray Tools? If you have the same issue, it can be something with drivers. I remember one particular set couldn't be overclocked properly. I can't remember which one though.

    I hope this helps,

    Ivan
