Ok i just bought a Asus C90s with a 8600m GT 512mg. I can install the drivers just fine with the CD that asus provided, but when I try updating to 163.69 or 163.74 the installation says that it did not find any hardware compatible witht the drivers...

My device manager sees the card as a 8600m GT driver version 7.15.11.117.

    I am using vista 32-bit

    plz help

    thx

Please read the stickies before posting, there is a thread dedicated to updating video drivers.

its because when you download it you need to make sure it says Geforce Go.. and they don't have the downloads available for the 8 series yet...

Umm, NO. It's because he's missing the .inf. But like Odin said, read the stickies.

Actually, ninthwonder was correct, there are Forceware mobile releases that do not require a modded INF.

Definitely a case of missing INF.

He downloaded them from nVidia, not from LaptopVideo2Go. Modified INFs are not required if you use nVidia's mobile Forceware releases.

Well, he doesn't say where he got them from, plus those aren't Nvidia's official mobile releases, thus he needs to find an INF so that they will work with the mobile cards. I don't know why we're arguing over this.
