And im curious if I can play games at 1080p it's native resolution. fingers crossed
I was looking hough the overclocking 850m thread and noticed he scored 5050 in 3dmark 11 with a gpu score of 4800 roughly, and cannot find comparable card that has benchmarks of games running medium/high settings at 1080p. i have only found ultra at 1080p.
so will it perform like 6970m x-fire or what lolhelp help help SOS

What budget do you have ?
for serious 1080p gaming I would recommend getting anything with a 970M.. games are getting too hungry because of the low optimisation done by devs.. -
can someone chime in and tell me what to expect with the 850m...am i looking at 720p gaming or just medium 1080p
-
There is NO WAY that an overclocked 850M GDDR3 will perform like X-Fire 6970M.
-
AMD Radeon HD 6970M Crossfire - NotebookCheck.net Tech
shows 5500 for 3d mark 11
850m overclocked can score above 5000
So why do you say what you say -
computer glitch
-
octiceps likes this.
-
so do you think the laptop is any good....its the best laptop i could finance so i just hope its good
-
-
You really need to tell us your budget first.
-
Whoa, dude, I'm seeing $1700 for that exact laptop on Amazon, and $1400-$1500 other places. If you're trying to game, You could get an Asus G751 w/ GTX 970M for that price!

im financing through mdg they want 320 upfront then 40/month im on disability and cannot afford a laptop that can game without saving for 5 months.
im browsing youtube 850m videos and shadow of mordor is the only game it can't max from the youtube selection. im sure their are others but obviously someone isn't going to buy a 850m laptop and post videos of games it cannot run lol
crysis 3 1080p veryhigh 24-44fps
nfs rivals maxed 30-50 fps
metro last light redux maxed 19-35fps
they all seem playable to me as i consider 20-30 laggy but enjoyable lol in some unique wayI prefer 60fps so ill be playing all new games mixed settings giving the best ratio of visuals/performance im guessing low/med/high some ultra textures at 1080p
after watching bf4 maxed on the 850m it boggles my mind how powerful even mainstream gpus are these days I mean this card out performs the 580m gtx. and when overclocked the games maxed hitting 19-23fps will be hitting 24-30 fps which is less laggy but who needs ultra as few games look all that much better on ultra vs medium example crysis 3 with veryhigh textures and all low looks identical to veryhigh everything to my eyes, and i guess in this situation its only my eyes that count as the laptop is for me.
I remember gta IV and how unoptimised it was even playing on my 6990m and well I'm praying JC3 and gta v will play on at least low/1080p high textures on the 850m. one thing that worries me about this purchase is the longevity, I need a laptop for my business and a gaming laptop thats at least as powerful as the 580m(last laptop) so im hoping this will be able to game for the duration of the payment schedule with mdg.
can you guys answer one or two of these questions
how long low/1080p in years
is the 4700hq fast enough for totalmedia theater 3d conversion with all the enhancements at a locked 30fps as I want to use my 3d movie collection in anaglyph mode with my high end glasss red/cyan glasses(looks like gravy, suprisingly good colors and suprisingly little cross talk but still there)
what the heck is digital array microphones and will it be good enough for high quality audio recordings for a business?
if you read and answered anything rep to you and thanks a millioneasy rep guys as you deserve it

ive done more research
in 3d mark vantage it can score over 19000 im sure i will be able to break 20000 when i get my laptop, and that is better than a 860m stock maybe that is, and on notebookcheck the 860m is ranked way above 6970m x-fire. im sure all things aside x-fire then 860m then 850m but if im overclocking the 850m ill at least attain 860m stock power, which im excited and happy about, can wait to get the darn laptop. its supposed to have the msi gt70 screen and the best speakers on a laptop, curious about the digital array mics and hopefully the built in amp will aid to making voice recordings sound excellent.
so for 2014 and the games i want to play it looks like max settings 1080p with my insane overclock i have planned(200mhz) unless nvidia inspecter does not allow past 135mhz..not sure and wont know what the max overclock is untill someone chimes in and tells me the restrictions otherwise my hopes of maxed is a pipedream -
1- you should look at real 2014 games (next gen ones)
cod adv. warefare(kind of)/far cry 4/shadow of the mordor/GTA 5 or the new batman.
the games you stated were developped to run on old gen consoles so its normal a 850m runs them well.
2- im pretty sure u found Gddr5 850m videos, you loose a lot of perfs with "your" gddr3 vram..
3- I dont understand why you dont want to consider another laptop..games are getting REALLY hungry..
4- you wont pass the 135MHz barrier with the stock BIOS.. -
they were all gddr3 videos
1)gta v was built on the last gen
2)financing
3)nvidia inspector -
Dude like listen to us.. For how much this laptop costs, you could get one with the 970M.. just look at the Clevo P650SE at xoticpc.. Probably 1400 will get you a full speced one.. They offer financing too I believe...
-
i have very bad credit and a low income
-
2) You can wait, patience..
3) told you that it wont let you pass +135MHz with all tools.. -
-
ok ok ty ty
help. OC'd 850m gddr3 vs x-fire 6970m
