Please post your notebook specs and video card with the amount of memory.

good place to start as stated above, list your notebook/specs. next, post what you have set in the battery options...there maybe more settings available to change. next, what power manager are you using? (most people here use notebook hardware control ...NHC)

    post back,

Double check your battery mode options. Make SURE everything is still on full performance including your videocard settings.

Also let us know what kind of laptop you have including the type of videocard you have.

If you have an Ati card it's probably Powerplay at work, as in battery mode it sets your videocard to medium performance settings and downclocks it, unless you put it up to optimum performance.

    Cheers,
    Mike

The video card is going to automatically downclock on battery. I can't get my card to run full speed on battery - games are pretty choppy. It's not really something you can fix.

This is a normal condition my ATI calls it "powerplay". It will automatically downclock your card when unplugged. Of course you can change this option in the ATI display properties. I'm sure it's a very similar situation with your nvidia.

if i change the settings on the card from optimal performance to optimal bater life . the game will get slower like slowwwww so i leave it at optimal performance. oh also i notice when ever is plug to the charger it heats more than when i am on battery life..

as nathanhuth has show in his picture, you would have to move the bar to optimal performance, not optimal battery life...if you have already done that, then i would disable powerplay all together and see if that helps.

VSYNC simply prevents tearing..for lack of better terms, if you can play agame at 150fps, it will sync it with the refresh rate (60hz for example), making it play at 60fps, and prevents tearing/graphical distortion.
