hl2 epsoide one crashes, any patches?

i bought hl2:epsoide one and this game gets on my nerves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at first it says my drivers are outdated. I have the ATI X1400 from dell. I have no idea what to download for this. Second whenever i play it gets stuck and plays the same music over, like looping one second over and over. I swear i have seen that intro movie aout 1,0000000000000 times . But is there hope for my hl2 gaming career? Just to let you know, i have made it to the roller coaster ride in the car part. then it froze. the earlyest it froze is as soon as the dog took me out of the box. Again, i have the ATI X1400 512 memory form dell. i have 1gig memory and 1.3 processot.

that is for the ati catalyst driver and the software to tweak your graphics options with. highly reccomend downloading those, most games will have problems with the windows default drivers, and you will probably see a huge performance increase and can adjust visual quality, etc.

 

Yea, I have the ATI X300, and I have problems like that occasionally. I am using Omega drivers, which I believe are based on the Catalsyt drivers and it seems to help. Best of luck to you.

 

ok thanks, if im not mistaken, i might of tried to download this before but dell was not listed there. I will check again but it may not be there. Will the driver update work even if dell not is listed there? Should i folllow Chaz update page or the ATI's update info?

i had the same problem, i actually had to get more ram: 2gigs, and i havent any problems at all. also try turning off hdr lighting. i know its hdr is amazing but its a great game too. i also downloaded the omega drivers

 

BUT DOES CATALYST WORK WITH DELL???????????????????????

1.Click Download Now, to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP

the whole reason we are telling you not to download from dells site is because dells drivers are outdated and the suck.

Catalyst are not dell compatable..good thing you dont have a dell video card. You have an ati video card.. so download catalyst.

I've had no problems using the latest Omegas on my x1300. I choose them cause they were pre modified so they could install on mobility chipsets, as I read all over that default catalyst drivers do not.

 

i do have a dell video card, they put it in for me, so can i download caralyst or not.Dell is listed as not supported as i wrote before. Can you just put a yes or no.

I HAVE ATI X1400 512 HYPERCACHE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT .FROM DELL.

dell built your laptop... but it is not a dell video card. Ati made your video card, intel made your cpu, samsung or whoever made your ram. I just told you to install the catalyst. Its fine.

Just download them. It should not screw anything up and you can always remove them if you want. This is the same exact drivers I have for my x300 and it works fine. Good luck!
