    Hey all,

I have never really used my laptop for gaming before (my bro just moved out ,.. and took his desktop with him [ :(!]), and was wondering whether these specs could handle the game.

I own an ACER travelmate 292LMi[8D]
    -1.5 Ghz pentium M
    -64MB ATI mobility radeon 9200 (direct X v8.1 compatible)
    -512MB RAM

Its more than enough for the minimum system requirements , but the recommended requirements are:

-Pentium 4 1.0 Ghz or equivalent
    -256MB RAM

I have no experience with laptop gaming , and was wondering how my pentium M 1.5 GHz stacks up against a pentium 4 with similar clockspeed.

Feel free to recommend games my system can handle

    thnx in advance.[ :D]

the main issue is not a cpu power, the main must be gpu...and you cant handle easily with newest games with 9200 radeon...farcry,doom 3,painkiller,wolfstein...

    hey,

yes that laptop should handle C & C generals quite well,
My advice is not to trust the minimum requirements, i downloaded World Of Warcraft Beta (2gb file) and it said that it would run on my laptop, The game said that my computer would be sufficient according to the "minumum requirements"
When i logged onto the game and started playing it was poorly displayed on my laptop and lagged soo much (they should make the minimum requirements required that can play the game averagely, so that you can enjoy the game), it was an awful experience wating for around 4hrs to download, and then another 1hr to install and then it didn't run very well at all,
If you like a game and are not sure wether it will run on your system or not, download the demo,

I know a radeon 9200 is not all that, which is one of the reasons I posted this. Its kinda hard finding ppl who have experience with games running with an ati mobility video card.

I do not intend to play the "newest" or most demanding games with it . overall , I'm a bit of a retro and console gamer. I like click-adventures like grim fandango and blade runner, and other games this laptop can easily handle. The most demanding game I own is probably morrowind, which dates back to 2002.

However, I ordered C&C: generals of the net but didnt know exactly how either cpu or gpu would perform , since they are different (both for laptops, and not found in desktops) from the processors and video cards I'm used to in ordinary PC's (and of which I know how well they perform).

So I just got C&C generals through the mail , and I've played it for about 2 hours now.

I played it on the highest graphical settings and at 1024×768 resolution. And the game runs really really good!!

I was expecting to play this on medium settings , but it really isnt neccessary. When the action gets really intense , the game does stutter a little (really little) bit, but its acceptable, doesnt really interfere gameplay, and is pretty rare.

very pleased with this[ :D], even better than I'd hoped for.
