I think you have to download 3D Mark 05 or something like that. Google it and see what you get

You can download 3DMark at a bunch of different places . . I like MajorGeeks.com, they have good download rates.

Once you install it, open it up, then there's an option to run it.

You can find the links to download it here.

This is off-topic but is it normal that I get a 3Dmark score of 210!!! With my desktop computer which has:

    • Pentium 4 3.2GHz
    • Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 128mb
    • 512mb RAM
    • 250GB Hard Drive
Oh...and is the graphics card I have good or bad?

    I think that's '05.

Yeah, the GeForce FX just died in 3DMark05. . it never did Pixel Shader 2.0 right to begin with. Even the top-end GeForce FX barely breaks 1000 in 3DMark05.

I get 500 in 3dmark 06 with my (stock) x600 ^^ 450 sounds too low since the x1400 also gets the score from the SM3 tests.

I never realised how much my graphic card sucked...This is rather weird though because I'm still able to play Call of Duty 1 at full settings...

2000 is a score from 05, not 06, BIG difference!

The GeForce FX cards never did DirectX 9 right . . they were never 'real' DirectX 9 cards. Since 3DMark05 was a true DX9 benchmark, the FX series did horribly. ATI's models based on the R300 core (9600, 9800) massacred the FX in that benchmark. So, 200 isn't a bad score FOR the FX.

Hm, intesting. Try doing our tune up guide:

And if you haven't already, try Omega drivers or the latest Mobility Catalyst 6.3's.

What exactly is DirectX, I think there's OpenGl too... I've never understood what they are or what they do. Maybe I should do a Google search or maybe you have a link to an article explaining the two...?

I'm planning on cleaning out my notebook. Too much junk. Mostly factory-installed bloatware.I'll give it a shot once I'm done cleaning up.

    Thanks,Chaz.
