I think you have to download 3D Mark 05 or something like that. Google it and see what you get

You can download 3DMark at a bunch of different places . . I like MajorGeeks.com, they have good download rates.
Once you install it, open it up, then there's an option to run it. -
yeh majorgeeks are good coz u dont have to subscribe or c*** (OMG SWEARWORD) like that
-
You can find the links to download it here.
This is off-topic but is it normal that I get a 3Dmark score of 210!!! With my desktop computer which has:
- Pentium 4 3.2GHz
- Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 128mb
- 512mb RAM
- 250GB Hard Drive
-
3Dmark 05 or 06 or 03

I think that's '05.
Yeah, the GeForce FX just died in 3DMark05. . it never did Pixel Shader 2.0 right to begin with. Even the top-end GeForce FX barely breaks 1000 in 3DMark05. -
I only got 450 on my X1400

I get 500 in 3dmark 06 with my (stock) x600 ^^ 450 sounds too low since the x1400 also gets the score from the SM3 tests.
-
So why is it that I see all these people posting that their X1400 got around 2000?!
-
Iunno...anyone think I have a faulty unit?
-
I get 260 3dmarks 05 with my X200m
-
I never realised how much my graphic card sucked...This is rather weird though because I'm still able to play Call of Duty 1 at full settings...

2000 is a score from 05, not 06, BIG difference!
-
Well how come there's just 450 from 3DMark 05, even though I have an X1400?

The GeForce FX cards never did DirectX 9 right . . they were never 'real' DirectX 9 cards. Since 3DMark05 was a true DX9 benchmark, the FX series did horribly. ATI's models based on the R300 core (9600, 9800) massacred the FX in that benchmark. So, 200 isn't a bad score FOR the FX.

And if you haven't already, try Omega drivers or the latest Mobility Catalyst 6.3's. -
What exactly is DirectX, I think there's OpenGl too... I've never understood what they are or what they do. Maybe I should do a Google search or maybe you have a link to an article explaining the two...?

I'm planning on cleaning out my notebook. Too much junk. Mostly factory-installed bloatware.I'll give it a shot once I'm done cleaning up.
Thanks,Chaz.
