Sounds like a TV turner card as opposed to a video (graphics) card.

Anyways, most likely there is a 99.9% chance you cannot upgrade whatever video card you currently have. Sorry.

No Neomagic is an OLD '3D' video chip, and there is no way to upgrade it (soldered onto the board). At best he can improve some features if he has cardbus support, but likely nothing really 3D accelerated for something so old.

The last NeoMagic soluion I owned was on a PII-366 Thinkpad 600E series and that was a Neomagic 256 solution so this sounds older than that.

Nothing worth upgrading to really, best to simply get a new laptop.

WOW, that brings me waaay back. I had a Thinkpad 600 and 600X, both with that card. And I'll second TheGreatG****Ape on that. The computer itself is worth less than $50, so upgrading, if possible, would likely cost more than the computer.

There's no way to upgrade on ANY laptop, with the slight exception that some models (particularly from Dell) can have their GPU modules replaced with another GPU that was designed for the same system.

So basically you need to make sure you buy a laptop with a GPU that you'll be happy with for the life of the system.
