if anyone could tell me how good my new laptop will perform playing games like battlefield 3, starcraft2, mw3 at 1080 since I haven't used it yet I was just wondering it is a hp dv7tqe with an i7 2670qm + 1gb 6770m + 8gb ram thanks in advance for any help

You can run bf3 on high/medium settings, i'd guess mw3 on high. Just to give you an idea of your gpu performance.
-
oh ok cause i was wondering there isn't much info that I can find about the cpu but plenty about the gpu and I've found out that the newer drivers for the 6770 have problems running bf3

1080p might be cutting it close in BF3. You'd probably end up going to 900p, and pessimistically, 720. But every other game you mentioned should be totally fine.
-
Starcraft and MW3 on high settings hands down - but not sure on BF3. Probably medium....
-
At 1080p BF3 won't go very high, I'd suggest playing it at 720p- high should be easily attainable then!
-
you won't have any problems with mw3 even at 1080p. in bf3 maybe medium to high on 1080p for smooth fps

AMD Radeon HD 6770M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
don't believe them a lot, half of their benches are crooked, still gives some ideas -
oh ok thanks for all the help and even at 720 or 900 if I have to go lower I bet bf3 will still look good but I'll mess around with the settings when I actually get to play with my laptop

I think higher res lower settings is better than lower res higher settings, also don't turn on AA, just as high res as possible and I think you will be able to do ultra textures and the rest set to medium on BF3

see if you get good performance out of 1080p on low before you drop resolution. the game looks really good regardless of settings, but it might get blurry if you drop resolution.
-
alright I'll try it first with 1080 what should I be looking for as far as fps?
-
solid 30 fps
how good will it perform
