One is high-end GPU (256-bit mem interface), the other is mid-range (128-bit).

About twice the difference in performance.

    Read the GPU Guide.

way better. The difference is the detail level. 2600 will run pretty much all new games, but not maxed or anything. The 8800 will run at much higher detail levels.

    A 8800M GTS average a 8000k score, whereas the HD 2600 ~3-3.5k .

Both will run any games that is on the market today.
But the 8800 will simply blow the 2600 away.

So it doesnt matter which one I get if Im not concerned with detail they both run the same frame-rates on the same games or at least close to it? and will in the future as well?

Well, you could archive the same fps but like, low detail/low res with the 2600 VS high detail/high res with the 8800...

They just aren't in the same league... Can't compare... The difference is Abysmal...

And in the future the 2600 just won't be able to run games while the 8800 will be able to do it, even at good settings (above medium)...

If you can get a lappy with the 8800mGTS then go for that.

You can get a Clevo M570RU with 8800M GTX.

Read the Clevo Guide for Canada retailers... or US vendors that have international support. :)

yeah for like $600 more; atleast. look its good and all your supporting this clevo thing but it is not really an affoardable solution for 90% of the poeple looking for laptops, this gateway is the perfect price to performacne ratio max.

    Thats true.

I usually recommend Clevo gaming notebooks for those with $1800-2000+ budgets.

I recommend the Gateway P FX series for under $1800 budgets.

oo i bet you were looking at the 6860 and the 6850 :) . Honestly though there is a considerable size leap between 15.4" and 17". Personally I would take the 15.4" and HD2600 cause I prefer the smaller size and lower cost.

Id also consider waiting for the Clevo M860TU, which has an 8800GTX in a 15.4" form factor.
