the ps3/xbox is quite impressive - about how much more powerful would a maximum pc build be?

i am not talking about obsecene amounts of memory ram video etc..but a comparable budget build.

the ps4 is a little under the 7970m mobile gpu, so many, many pc builds will annihilate the consoles. Even my dual overclocked 765m's are much more powerful. Any single current mid range gpu beats it. However, games will look amazing on the consoles because of all the software optimization. The new consoles are now more similar to pc's hardware; hopefully this means our ports wont suck as much.

One big reason is exclusive games and the relative inexpensive up front cost. The performance factor really doesn't matter as much as everyone likes to throw it around.

If a game is excellent from an art direction, gameplay and feel perspective you won't notice a small to moderate decline in image quality once get past initial inspection.

Most hard-core gamers will just have all of them anyway in order to play the exclusives..
