i'm trying to do HDMI out to my 52" samsung in 1080 resolution so i can play movies off my laptop. i have a dell studio xps 16 with the radeon hd 3670. it will let me set it as an extended monitor/desktop and set the resolution to something x 1080 but it leaves a small black border. like it doesn't use the entire 52" screen. and i want to use it as the only monitor also. so i could close the lid of the laptop and have the movie playing and control it thro a wireless mouse.

    can anyone help me out?

Mine did that with my Pioneer 50" TV, Have you tried setting the display to "Projector only" when you push the Windows Key + P, try that....

If not, try adjusting the settings on you're TV to fit the whole screen.

You don't want it to set it as an extended monitor. Press fn+ (key that looks like two monitors on the number row) until the screen only shows up on the tv. Right-click>press change resolution>choose the best resolution that will fill up the screen (mine is 1440x900 on a "50)

go to CCC -> digital panel -> scaling options -> set to 0% (overscan)

CCC -> digital panel -> uncheck enable gpu scaling
CCC -> digital panel -> scale image to full panel size
