I want delete game which I don't play and will not play anymore. How to remove it from library?
-
you can't/
What reason would you have for removing it? -
Could this work for fantomasz ? -
Yes, for demos it would be gone forever until you want to install again.
But for full games it's there forever. -
i want it gone from library
looks like not possible I just switch to installed games -
Fantomasz, sorry about the HiJack!
BearClaw, Wow you are psychic, my next question is can I download my games on one machine (an older Dell) and transfer them easily to the ASUS? My thinking here is save wear and tear on the ASUS (I have a 1 Mb DSL connection so I often have to run DL's for many hours). Thanks for the quick response -
-
Also, if you want to copy a game from one machine to another, just copy the game folder. It's at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\XXXXX.
it's much easier to use than the Steam backup feature. -
check to see if your local college/tech school has open wifi... @ home I usually get 2mb/s downloads, at school I would get 14-15mb/s speeds, even over wifi
-
Just leave it there, don't download it, and no harm is done.
If you want to only show games that you have installed in the games library you can do that instead. But the game you don't care for is just hidden. -

Just right click the game and then "Add to favorites". Hope it helps

You can send a request to Steam Support, and they'll remove games for you.
-
why would you want to get rid of something you spent money on?! seems kinda stupid to me... But if you want to filter your games you can select different categorys for your games... from there just put the games you do not want to play anymore into a list and just minimize it
-
why?
peoples have old games that they don't play anymore
to many games on the list it's hard to search for game to play -
You can categorize them, but it doesn't save it to your account, so you have to recategorize on each machine you have it on and do it again if you reinstall Steam. To be honest, imho, this is where Steam fails big time. Their GUI is ancient and featureless. Their backup system is horrible too.
-
No it does save it between machines... not sure what your doing..... when you reinstall steam on a new machine you have to load steam once then the next time the program is killed and restarted your lists are shown... and steam backup works fine.... the only thing it doesnt do is compress the data...but thats not a big deal you just press back up and select the games you want... place backup on dvds or external drive....plug in drive on new computer and boom it works..?? -
Categorizing your games is not transferred between machines. I have Steam on my laptop, desktop, and netbook. I categorize on one, and it's not on the other ones.
Also, try to backup and restore TF2 or Half-Life 2 or any other Valve game solely without any other Valve game installed. It doesn't restore everything. There's like 5-8GB of core files it has to redownload every time. -
yes it is... my games list is categorized the same exact way everytime i install/reinstall steam on a new netbook or desktop i play my stuff on....
i do not think something is working right on your account -
games on external hdd if You want use on different laptops?

I have emailed them to remove a game from my account. When I visited India in December 2009, I bought Left 4 Dead 2 there since it was only ~$20. Not bad for a game that came out the month before and was $50 in the U.S!
I emailed the key to my brother and asked him to activate it on my Steam account and it added to my game list.
To my dismay, he couldn't download the game as Steam gave him a region lock error message. When I got back come to the U.S, I couldn't even buy the American version since I already "owned" the game. So I had to ask them to remove it so I could buy the American one instead.
In India though, I could run my American bought games fine, but not vice-versa.
I understand they want to do it to prevent gray-market sales. But I feel bad if someone from India, Russia, Thailand, etc. has a lot of local Steam games and he immigrates to the U.S, Europe, etc. and his games won't work. -
