Mr. Papusan AKA Dr. Overclocker can guide you step by step how to overclock and what voltage, turbo package timings, etc., to put since he has the same CPU, believe me I'd buy the 4930MX just for the fact that you will make it much easier to copy his settings as a starting point and then tune it from there. :) With my 4940MX, I couldn't find anyone's setting to copy/ apply on my system successfully. Only help I got was from Mr. Fox but he's too busy to contact all the time so I was left alone :(

Yeah it topped out at 4.3GHz - it was a burning fireball of course but it was stable. Since it didn't take much more voltage than 4.2GHz which is the general sign it won't go any higher, I think 4.4 is a safe bet, maybe even 4.5 but dissipating that heat... Yeah quick benches haha.

    Had counted on that... LOL
Maybe this one can be a new laptop alternative http://forum.techinferno.com/clevo-...dm-g-aka-rising-phoenix-executive-lounge.html But I want preferably a laptop with the best Sli graphics and with the most powerful processor available time will tell. Will never look at laptops with BGA hardware. Hate such garbage... Look under my avatar / nickname :p. It may be that I upgrade my Aw17 "Elitist" with either Gtx980m or if it becomes possible; 120w Gtx980 or 990m. Time will tell. Is not very engrossed in gaming but I want whatever the rawest of hardware in a laptop. Passionate about overclocking so it must be decent hardware.
Edit: There is no option except Clevo now if you want decent hardware and a thick laptop with ok cooling. Alienware is driven into the ditch. MSI, Asus or similar trash is irrelevant. Only BGA junk everything now.

You can count on that for sure! You shup up my mouth/ my topic with that example :p

I've already checked the new CLEVO P870DM and I'm still impress being able to handle that big 980 'notebook' version but... I would like to push the pros in my Aw17 R1 till the very end. Those are for the me excellent build quality + keyboard, better portability (specially with the 240w psu), 3 2.5" drives + 1 msata! and most important the 120Hz panel.
I've already had clevo in the past.. I'll go back to them if they deliver a good keyboard and a 120Hz or more panel.. being the 2nd kind of possible in some models but they don't come not even close to Alienware in build quality and their keyboard are just...

I'll follow your path about the Aw17 gpu upgradability. Hoping how the 990/980 'notebook' develops if not getting a cooler temp and safe 980M. And of course everything might change again if we can fit in Pascal next year :D

It's your 4930mx oem or qs? I'm hesitant if getting one QS from ebay.. Let me know if you ever get rid of.. as I suppose you are in EU right?

Have OEM. But QS are almost always identical to the production chip. See if you can get a cheap one. But perhaps difficult in Europe(Here at home want the government a lot of fees on purchases in other countries). I live near the North Pole as you see in my location :p. Northern Scandinavia. LOL

Yes.. the northern I went was around the Bergen area, in Norway once, but here is the same as bad I suppose. On top of whatever you buy from the us or asia (product+shipping cost) + 21% now the posting service is charging an almost €19 extra for "taxation paperwork" or something like that they called it... crazy.
Actually planning a trip to Canada and California next year I'll bring a lot of stuff for sure :D

I'll track the prices of those qs aswell... thanks ;)
