CPU Benchmark designed for PCSX2 based on FFX-2

I came across an interesting benchmark for this cpu. Based on this test, the 2630qm is no faster than a core2duo@3ghz. I thought about picking up a hp dv6tqe as a replacement for my desktop, but I'm going to wait for ivy leaf. All this hype for sandy bridge and its advance architect yet in real world applications its no faster than something released 3 years ago.

Emulators like PCSX2 can only utilize 2 cores, a 2630qm should run at 2.6-2.7Ghz range when only 2 cores are stressed, even with better architecture it shouldn't have a big advantage over a 3Ghz core2duo, at least for the emulators.

People on dolphins forums actually recommend getting duo cores i5 over quad cores i7 simply because high end i5s can be clocked quite higher than the i7s, and dolphins is all about dual core speed.

A high end duo core is definitely no slouch for ps2/wii emulation, especially when they are overclocked. My overclocked x9100 running at 3.6ghz runs a lot of games just fine, like FFX, FFX-2, FFXII for PCSX2, Resident evil series for Dolphins, of course some of them need heavy tweaking with the emulator, but that's the nature of the ps2/wii emulation, although they have been vastly improved over the last few years but they are still not perfect by any means.

^^ Like said above, you just found that 2 cores (out of 4) of the 2630qm perform like a C2D 3GHz.
