Please help me figure out what is wrong with my rig. I have the dell 9300 with the nvidia 6800 256mb card and 1.25 gig of Ram. My system should play WoW without much choppy lag. However, I find that it is sort of choppy and laggy graphics wise. My frame rate stays in the 50 fps range though. It would be fine for awhile, but then when i fight a mob, it would become somewhat choppy for a split second and then it will be fine again. I have the XtremeG drivers for the laptop and clocking it at:
Core: 340 mhz
Memory: 690 mhz
Is anyone else experiencing the same problems? By the way I have turned down most of the video options in the game.

You may want to ease back on that overclock a bit to see if that helps smooth things out. Also, what version of the XtremeG's are you using? (You may want to try a different version...either the 80.40, 77.76 or 77.62 type 2 or 3's)
How are your other games running? (the intensive ones)....
You may also want to try running with only 1gb of ram until you could get another 1gb stick to pair it with.
Have you checked into any patches for WoW that improve performance?
I also am using the XtremeG drivers (77.76) and am experiencing quite a bit of choppiness in the F.E.A.R single player demo. I have to play at 800x600 w/ medium visuals in order for it to run smooth. I didnt really expect to do this...as the game then looks worse than Doom3...and doesnt play as well (when Doom3 runs like butta at 1280x1024 /w high quality visual settings). Im not sure if its the blame of the XtremeG drivers or the fact that FEAR is just that demanding of a game engine. -
Here's a shot in the dark. Are you playing this game with a wireless connection at home?
I set up a wireless network with dsl and when I played on battle.net through the wireless network I would notice lag bursts like that. When I hook it up hard wired, the lag is gone. Conclusion, wireless = sucks for gaming. -
Problem fixed.
#1 for sure problem - I overclocked the video card. When I restored the default clock settings, the game ran flawlessly.
#2 possible problem - While on AC mode, my CPU was on dynamic switching. I changed this to Max Performance.
I hope this helps anyone else out there that are experiencing similar problems.

I believe it's the overclocking that's doing those short choppy outbursts. After overclocking my gpu to play battlefield 2, the fps went up, but every so often, there will be split second where all the controls freeze and I can't do anything. Then it returned to nomal right afterwards. After I set the clock to default, fps dropped 5-8, but I gladly gave that up for no more lag.
