1600 of what? Potatoes, apples, oranges?
But I will go ahead and assume you mean US dollars.
$1600 is pretty decent amount of cash. That can buy you either one good thing from that list, or even a couple of them. If you want to own everything you've mentioned, well, I guess you will have to prioritize. -
thanks for that i meant 1600 potatoes obviously...but who will trade these precious potatoes for what i want

ask here about a laptop What Notebook Should I Buy? - A Laptop Buyers Guide
as people always want potatoes -

oc how on earth am i trolling. explain or leave the forum
-
LOL so says the troll who chickened out here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...s/735352-why-do-people-buy-flagship-gpus.html
Hmmm what do laptop/tablet/desktop/ps4/3d led projectors have to do with one another? And why is this in the gaming section?
Where's the punctuation and capitalization?

it would depend on what you really want. like maybe you play a lot of PC games and dont travel as much, then i would build a desktop. if you like playing real games and travel a lot and dont mind the decrease in performance as well as limited expanability, then i would go with a gaming laptop. if you dont do a lot of gaming on the go or you prefer to play games such as angry birds, then go for a tablet/cheaper laptop.
if you really want to be frowned upon by pc gamers, then maybe buy a console.
no comment on the projector -
Desktops are a better value than laptops. I am poor also, so I go for PC gaming since I can get games cheaper and I can do so many more things with a PC. For more information, I think it depends on your usage.
Please give more details on what you want them for, or what you like to do, or your job, or something, otherwise the question is too vague. -
Seems to me there's 3 options:
1. Gaming laptop
2. Gaming desktop + PS4
3. PS4 + Projector + Tablet -
I'd get a gaming laptop for 1300$ and a chromebook for 300$.
Unfortunately i do not have such money, being the college student i am. -
or shed loads of potatoes
-
ty everyone except octiceps who is obviously nbrs troll
-
If you just want best bang for buck raw power without considering weight, size, noise, heat, etc, you have a few options:
(1) Sager NP9380-S - option for SLI/CrossfireX later but no Optimus or Enduro (so battery life will suffer a bit)
(2) Sager NP8255 or NP8265
(3) Asus G750JX
(4) MSI GT60 or GT70
With most of those you should have a few bucks left to throw in an SSD, which I'd recommend highly, at least a 128GB one for Windows and apps.eeryanee likes this. -
I'd save it and wait until I had $2,000 to spend and then build a desktop computer, but that's me.
If I really wanted a gaming notebook, I guess eBay would be my first stop. I'd look for Manufacturer Refurbished systems by Alienware.eeryanee likes this. -
Desktop. i5 4670K. GTX 770. Asus 140hz panel with the upcoming Nvidia panel tech.

You can get a real decent laptop for £1600. Or a real decent desktop. Whatever floats your boat.
If it's US $1600 then slightly-less decent but still decent nonetheless. -

thanks alot guys. im thinking of the sager notebook or the desktop with a 770. i honestly dont need portability
-
Wait a bit. With the new Radeon GPUs, there is bound to have price slashes for nvidia GPUs, GTX770 should drop near r9 280x prices making it an even better deal. Or better yet, 780 might drop enough to be a possible choice.

That new r290x is only 549.. I'm sure you could find a way to build a system around it for another 1050..
-
r290x? whats that

buy desktop and projector
~$800 will buy you a decent 1080p projector
~$800 will buy you an excellent gaming desktop
You won't be needing a PS4 or tablet. -
Only you can make a decision on which one you want sunshine. -
lol. pretty funny post made me chuckle..what kinds of sinks can be overclocked.
octiceps i did google it...maybe i should have asked a better question,im not perfect...afterall nbr revolves around you right? and everything you read has to sync up with your train of thought otherwise you attack like a spider monkey in heat, not saying your in heat or a monkey...just sayin
to everyone else thanks a million, its leaning towards desktop and possibly a projector -
Let's be nice.
I think desktop is good value for the money. Projectors need a dark room. With the price of big screen TVs, that might be a better way to go. I have even seen a 4K TV for under a grand. And don't forget black friday and cyber monday will be very soon. That will bring a ton of TV deals. -
I'd buy a desktop for around $1000 (would involved an intel i5 + 670 gpu) then spend the rest on a very nice screen.
-
i have a dell m110 projector, and a 55lm6200 lg smart led cinema 3d tv. i really want a 3d led projector. would be cool watching all my 3d imax movies on a 120in screen, and better yet powering them with a 770 desktop
-
Well, if you have a projecter then you know the limitations. Just check the lumens, and with 3D it will be dimmer because of the higher flicker and the glasses. But I am no expert on 3D projectors.

I've been using the Optoma HD20 1080p projector for about 3 years, looks gorgeous when watching blu-rays projected on my wall at about 8' x 14' - sometimes the image quality is better than watching the same film in the cinema. So far haven't had to replace the bulb yet.
If this is your first projector, if there are windows in the room where you will install it, you will probably also need to purchase blackout curtains, otherwise you won't be able to use it during the day.
if you had 1600 what would you buy
