Ok well i ran UT3 on the setting it starts out at and that like 800 by something and it works fine...its just after playing for a while it froze the screen turned black and i had to hold down the power button to turn it off. Im pretty sure it was just a heat problem cause i had it charging while running a big game. There was no error when i rebooted the pc.

This is probably the heat problem with your GPU. I suggest that you install the latest BIOS update from Dell and see if that helps.

You should ignore this, because the vostro 1500 with a 8600m gt does not have a overheating issue. Without knowing the error or your temps, I would say its your graphics card driver. Try some of the other driver versions on laptopvideo2go.com

Please tell us the temps using RivaTuner while you are in-game.

If it exceeds 95C... then its overheating.
