is it possible to increase the number of pipelines from the default 64...i remember back in 2004 i had a desktop 6200 and using riva tuner i increased the pipelines from 4 to 8..
so is it possible in mobile GPUs as well?![]()
-
That's the $32 question. Highly doubtful but hope I'm sooo wrong. Lot's of people would like to know as well..
-

well man CRYSIS is running horribly on my system have tried various drivers and still i am get Run #1- DX10 1024x768 AA=No AA, 32 bit test, Quality: High ~~ Last Average FPS: 24.13.............THIS is the island flyby so u can guess what it would be in firefights...and this is with a 2.4ghz core 2 duo and 4 GB RAM!!!
i m sad -
Thats all I hear these days..CRYSIS CRYSIS CRYSIS. Its a fad, hopefully it wont catch on.
Most people caught in the hype all want these crazy systems just for CRYSIS. -
well blackbird i m fretting over crysis cuz i m using it to judge where my system would stand in 1-2 years time...but really i also believe it to be a teeny bit overhyped...cuz Bioshock which has comparable graphics runs at 50-60fps at maximum and native resolution on my system which shows that its better optimized
-
-
well i meant at maximum they are "almost" as good..i didn't mean like crysis...
-
U better use COD4 as a benchmark -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
there is no reason to run in DX 10 at high quality.
you could increase your framerate by, well, a lot, by switching to DX9.
you could increase your framerate even more with windows xp > vista. -
-
This may sound stupid... but when I play Crysis on High DX10 vs DX9 I actually note a big difference...
I asked myself that question yesterday... again and again...
If we could increase the shader pipeline I would even pay for that...
Seriously... -
YOU CAN`T. Period. It`s locked and unless you know laser cut technology and got the tools, you`ll have to stick with it.
That is weird , even my 7950GTX managed an average 19+fps in all high, DX9 in Crysis, driver 169.44. I uploaded a video on youtube.
That is with NO OC`ing.
The drivers and XP help a lot. You just can`t imagine how much. You should get at least 30+fps at 1024x768 with the right drivers and XP,DX9. -
frankly some people here are too obsessed with framerates...i mean if the game seems playable to you then why worry if the framerate is 10. its what we perceive that matters. -
I have RC1 for now, much better that SP2 . I`m awaiting eagerly for the final build, should be out soon if it`s not out already
A matter of perception in an objective way: under 20 fps Crysis is jerrky, but playable only at over 20 fps. i`m not ok with that . I game at 25+fps . -
I play crysis all high @ 1440*900 and manage 20 fps +
I guess im doing something right -
-
-
-
it´s easy he probably uses a custom config. It´s very easy to add some tweaks yourself that don´t mess up the visual quality but instead optimizes the game to utilize the GPU´s and CPU better. Try that and it should be possible to have 1440x900 and 20+ fps average on that 8800m GTS.
-
DX9
all high
1440*900
20fps+
MAYBE but maybe I may still have custom config, natural mod etc... still somewhere in my files... but otherwise I am 100% sure I play at those settings. -
-
But Seriously(Wow. Could not spell that right for like ten minutes. Thats really sad) Your Reputation has not earned you the ability to say stuff like this without giving proof, or at least in my book. -
well beatsiz was PARTIALLY right.....it runs at 20+ FPS when your not moving or theres nothing going on....in fire fights it drops to 15 and stays there....so iff u knock a couple things down it could be playable

I read that thread too.

I bet he feels really cool after such statements.
He reminds me of two students back in high school.....
They went to Japan just to be the first in our school to get PSP's and if that wasn't enough, the next day they wore the PSP's around their necks. -
damn guys give the kid a break...we all know his track record, i dont think we need festoon all of his incorrectness all over the boards...
-
so we should just let him post mis information all over the forums, and any newbie will most likely beleive it unless we intervine?
-
No point defending that which is indefensible, especially to those who aren't human. -
Should I use the Crysis Benchmarking to prove it?
I will go and play crysis right now and give you all the details.
One thing I do know is cinematics drop under 15fps
btw I have a question... everytime I run crysis it goes into 1440*900 with no full screen... once I change it back to fullscreen the cursor dissapears
SO:
avg 18-22 on opening cinematics lowest 12fps and then jumped back up (thats when nomad gets up and jumps) highest 28fps
when decending avg 22-24fps
From beach to the first enemy avg 22-26fps
When fighting with 3 koreans and then walking to the flare and walking along shore 23-34fps
Firefight lowest 8fps avg 18fps and highest 27fps
With 174.74 drivers which seem not so good to me... ill have to maybe switch back to the other recommended drivers for crysis... ive been having some problems with the 174.74 -
-
What kind of proof is that..
post some screenshots of the settings and the benchmark running.
considering your record you might change settings to lower res after providing screenshot of them at the res you say, so post a continuous vid starting from showing you apply the settings and finishing off by running the benchmark -
Couple of posts more and the mods will probably lock the thread stating thread hijack.
Going back to the original topic, I assume none of the GTS owners have been able to increase physical capabilities of the cards by software or BIOS means. -
I will try to get a video, one thing is time... my internet is DSL (20KBps...) upload... worse...
I will try and film it, FRAPS... no way... only 30 seconds... ill just use my Canon G9 in compact mode. Should I then ZIP it? or 7z ?
EDIT: I attached the file, I will re run and film, I will do it with 3 loops this time and film it
EDIT2: Attached second run benchmark, in process of compressing the videoAttached Files:
-
-
7z has better compression....and we should be able to read the settings/fps from the vid.
Had you had a better record you wouldnt have to go through this... -
-
LOL, how is 1280x1024 = 1440x900?
If your getting average fps of 21.25 at 1280x1024 there is no way you will get 20+ at 1440x900 -
-
idc if you want to flame me but if you can find 1440*900 in the list of resolutions in the benchmark then ill be happy to hear so
In real life gaming I get 20fps avg and I played through the whole game and never changed a single setting... it did lag with some of the alien levels and places with heavy physics (cpu sucks)
And the video I took with my camera is 700mb... impossible to size down without making res or fram rate lower... according to my computer... it says it would take 30hrs + to upload it.... mhmmm screw that -
Dude, film it at 320x240, it's how I did on my laptop to prove that I can play Crysis all high, except object, which were medium, resized the movie with winAvi converter, uploaded the video and proved my point. do the same.
Or get -
-
Well what can I say? its 20 most of the time
I dont stare at the top corner all day
And to me Crysis at 15FPS looks fluid
But who cares 2-3 fps here and there -
No offence dude, 15 fps is fluid? I`d tell you a few things, but I`m a calm person and you`ve BSed too much around so
increase shader pipelines of 8800m GTS
