    intel 17 quad w/ geforce gt230m question.?

    I am getting hp lap with above chip/card. Wondering if I can or need to close down all active programs like I used to do w/ ms config. on my 5 year old desktop with 5700 ultra card. I am ms flight/sim freak (only game I play). I have 04 F/s but will add newest active x version that pumps up require... quite a bit. I like to run max settings. Thanks in advance to you extreme/gamers.

    for less money i recommend an asus g60vx or asus g72gx from best buy, same place as where your probably getting that from. the gt230m only has48 unified shader processors, less than half that of the gtx 260m in those asus'. good luck

    Flight sim is more CPU dependent, so the 230M should be more than fine with a Core i7 CPU.

    Agreed w/ BrandonSi. Flight Sim is like Supreme Commander and GTA IV, in the respect that CPU is much more important than GPU.
