It's an integrated graphics chips with no vertex shaders, I believe you're referring to the 965 chipset otherwise known as the X3100. I'm afraid if you want a video card with vertex shaders you will have to upgrade to a better laptop.

The OP is correct to refer to the Intel 945GM Chipset which uses the GMA 950. However, unfortunately, this is even worse than the X3100.

Bioshock and Halo 2 are not going to work. You'll squeeze by with Halo 1 and Guild Wars on low settings.

no pixel pipelines? i believe so because 945 is like 950 which is worst of the graphics in integrated. i think ati and nvidia integrated has 2 pipelines but not intel...

don't even buy those games with your notebook, unless you get a better one or "gaming desktop." itll be waste of money since you can;t play them. however halo 1 and guild wars might work.
    --------------------
your gpu doesn;t even have power to run that application,
    expect 2-4fps even with 2.0

You will get maybe 10 FPS in Bioshock and Halo 2. Not playable.

    i made my point...
    945 will not run bioshock
    halo 2 as i though
but bioshock will recognize it and stop the installation

    nono...
    945 or 950 (almost identical)
is way lower than the recommend setting and it doesn;t even meet standard requirement for bioshock. check the forums about the list of gpus by chaz

You are not going to get Bioshock to work on integrated graphics, try as you may.

Halo 1 at least should work fine, not sure about two.

Bioshock will NEVER be 'playable' on the intel 945. NOT EVER.
