I've been researching online and read in a few spots that the g45 chipset by intel has a pci express slot. Without taking my laptop apart I thought I would try to get some confirmation on this forum about it. The few articles I read don't specify whether only the desktop version of the chipset offers the slot or if all chipsets do (including laptop). Can anyone confirm this for me?

In notebooks, it's almost like a virtual interface that only the computer can see...

Please note the almost, though you won't be finding a physical slot for a desktop video card in a notebook.

Yeah, there is one x16 PCI Express port in the GM45, but it is likely to be disabled, and you may not find any MXM-slot, etc there to attach a graphics module. That port needs to be enabled by the ODM when designing the motherboard.
