Intel i3 IGP cannot turboboost so i guess both cards would deliver equal performance.

What prosessor are we talking about? i5 Arrendale or i5 Sandy Bridge (i5 2xxxm).
Intel i5 does support turbo boost on both the CPU and IGP so it will be a better performer.

What will be your main usage with your soon to be new notebook?

I think it is better you post the specs because Radeon HD 4250HD is quite an outdated GPU (I think) usually platform with that Graphics isn't going to have a good CPU. To best get your money worth of device performance get the whole spec sheet.

    the 4250 win

intel chose thier names well cause the hd 3000 is about equivalent to ATI hd3000 generation igp

how ever Sandy bridge CPU power is light years a head of the AMD cpu that had that kind of IGP so even if the 4250 is more powerfull it might not be the best choice for any graphic application

actually the 4250 would lose, since the performance is close to the 6470m

It's only the CPU that can't Turbo Boost, for the mobile chips. Even the graphics in Celeron can Turbo.

vs. the 4250 that depends on whether its the first generation or second generation i3. The second generation i3 chips feature the same HD 3000 as the i5 and i7's(with only minor clock speed differences) so it'll outperform it.
