Why would you opt for a 750m when 860m laptops likely exist that cost the same or not much more and is much more powerful.

As the previous poster has said, 750M is an older model, and has been replaced with newer model cards. If you complete this form What Should I Buy FORM and post it in that section, you will get a much better response.

Budget restrictions? For example in my country the 860m machines nearly twice the price of a 750m machine.

That's fine, but that's why OP should fill out the form so we can help. I understand budget restrictions, but other than possibly a few countries, I haven't found 850m or 860m laptops to be that much more than those with 740m/750m GPU's.

Up to you but 850m or 860m will last you a lot longer. I understand if the cost difference is substantial, but if it's < $200 I think it's worth the price difference.
