hi. is having a benchmark 500 points to 1000 points higher than another graphics card considered significant when it comes to gaming?
-
it is to an extent. 3dmark is usually not considered to be a really good indicator of how good the card will perform in the real-world gaming. but considering those numbers, i'd say there is a difference.

Depends on the cards
There's a much more important difference between say, cards that run at 1000 and 2000 (2X) 3Dmarks respectivly, than a 7000 to 8000 card comparison (14%) -
well let me put it this way, my card gets 500 3dmark06 marks..sooo a card that gets 1000 more is 3x faster...so yea its all relative, the faster the card the less it matters

It is a significant difference, yes, however how significant depends on the cards being talked about. Anything more than 200-300 is significant.
is 500 to 1000 points difference a lot for 3dmarks?
