I have a toshiba satellite a 29-n laptop, core2duo t6500.....2.1ghz, 320gb hdd, 512 mb ati mobility radeon 3650 hd
is it ok to play games on my laptop???
i play sims3,nfs shift,fifa10...for about 3-4hrs continuosly and it doesnt crash
the processor temperature goes upto 77`C and the gpu temperature goes upto 71' C..........Is the temperature tooo high???
-
Nah those temperatures are perfectly fine. There's nothing to worry about mine gets up to 85 for CPU and around 90 for GPU and doesn't crashing. So i wouldn't worry, keep on gaming
-
77°C for the CPU could come off as slightly warm (warm is about in the 80° temperature range), but it's fine, nothing to worry about unless you get 90° temps.
GPU is perfectly fine as well (71°C for a GPU when gaming is good). -
no need to worry about anything
-
Agreed.
The temps on your laptop are fine.
You could look into undervolting cpu and gpu (perfectly safe and cannot damage your laptop) which could lower the temperatures by about 10 degrees C or more (depends).
And undervolting would not reduce the performance of your laptop (it merely means you are finding/using the lowest voltage at which your cpu/gpu can run when maxed out). -
IMO, those are some pretty high temps for the CPU... i'd be a little wary of that
-
CPU temps do indeed seem a bit high for a c2d, nothing to worry about, but still higher than what i'd expect. GPU temps are alright. Tonight i'm supposed to play L4D2 with a couple of friends and i'll be bringing my N50 which has a c2d in it (not everyone has a notebook with gaming capabilities, might as well helt a friend use it for lans
), i'll monitor the temps and see if the CPU gets as hot.
There's one thing you should know about undervolting before you do it: be careful how much you undervolt, too much undervolting could cause stability issues. You can still lower the temps quite a bit with minor undervolting. -
CPU a little hot but not dangerous..

i wanted 2 know how much d temperature will reduce by using laptop cooling pad
cpu temp=77'C
gpu temp=71'C
??????
A gud cooling pad?????which 1 to buy????is it worth??? -
It depends on what pad it is and how well the fans align with your vents. Usually you can expect 5 degrees or so.
-
If your temps get too hot the laptop will shut down with no warning. You'll know when it happens. If this isn't happening, you are fine. I didn't catch what size screen you have in your description, but that is a factor in which cooler you get. Just make sure if you get one that it blows air into the intake of your laptop fans. If it isn't doing that it is a cheap piece of crap, take it back and get a refund.
-
Hell, my laptop gets noticeably higher than yours, and it's a top-line gaming machine! Your temps are fine, don't listen to these other folks telling you to get a cooling pad, you don't need one (of course, if you're super-concerned, it can't hurt, but you don't need one).
-
No, it is not ok to play games in your laptop. You should be doing work or studing on it. Shame on you for wasting your time in games!
-
Completely unrelated to the topic, but i had great times playing diablo 2 in thermodynamics (still got an A for some weird reason). On another note, the cooler your temps, the quieter the notebook if you game in class
.

lol, nah work and studying? thats for newbs
