I am not sure if I can say since it might be considered hacking.... but we are talking about a demo here.
.... so I am not sure if it counts in this situation since I do not even know if its possible to pirate a demo. LOL.

There are a number of ways to play Steam games without Steam... I had to do it for some games that do not even need to be online (like Portal) when I was no where near an Internet signal while working.

I think there are legal ways to play offline Steam games. However you have left 4 dead demo for limited time only which means when the time expires you won't be able to play it online/offline. It's like evaluation copy :)

If you are playing through Steam, then that is true.

If you are playing "Non-Steam", then it would not matter (no expiration)... especially if you are just testing the Single Player demo.... non-Multiplayer.

If it's like an evaluation copy it should lock itself no matter if you're playing Steam or Non-Steam version. I cannot find any confirmation about though this but I think it is possible..

So...you claim that playing non-steam is legal, yet you have no idea how to do it?

Is there any statement from Valve that supports playing Steam games without Steam?

It's a legal concept called "Fair Use".

We have bought the game. We have not stolen the game, or commited copyright infringement.

I don't see how you can possibly justify taking a "moral" stand against this.

I don't actually care what you do. I just didn't think that such talk was allowed here in NBR. Kinda like how we aren't allowed to discuss about no-CD cracks even if we have the full version of the game.
