Yeah, you'll have no problems with that at all. I play CS:S and HL2 at the highest settings with my 256MB X700.

You'll definitely want to jack up the RAM though, that only has 512MB. I suggest adding a 1GB stick so you have 1.5 - that should be plenty.

What's your budget? We can recommend another laptop you can comapare that to. Always good to look at more than one machine.

    $2200? thats plenty :)

Allow me to introduce to you the Sager NP5720-C. (My Avatar PC)

you can find this computer at www.sagernotebook.com and can customize this or any of their computers from their website. to customize this particular computer, follow this link:
    http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/notebooks/product-price.cfm?ProductType=5720&SubType=C&hdid=40000993&ramid=80001154

Ive already done the liberty of slightly customizing a build that I believe would suit you, perhaps you may like this:

    -17" WSXGA+ widescreen LCD Display (1680 x 1050 res) with glossy surface
    -intel centrino mobile 1.86ghz processor
-NVIDIA Geforce 7800 Go GTX with 256mb ddr3 memory
    -1gig of RAM
-60mb (7200 RPM) SATA Hard drive

plus the rest of the standard options that come with the pc, including a DVD CDRW combo drive, built in digital camera and microphone, and a super sweet lcd front panel display $

all comes with a 1 yr standard warrenty.

heres the best part. alltogether, with these modifications, this computer comes out to a grand total of $2,174 and last I knew (from when i got my PC) tax was included in that price.

    Additional shipping charges apply though.

I myself am a personal fan of Sager. Their prices for high end gaming notebookss are difficult to beat, and their notebooks are of very good quality. You should even be able to play games like F.E.A.R. on this, Should. I highly reccomend this pc and this build.

Of course this is only a reccomendation. I hope you make the right choice when buying your notebok :)
