Ok so I was playing oblivion and all of a sudden I notice like a bright red light in the middle of my screen. Almost the size of a pixel but I thought pixels would be much smaller than that. Anyways, It's not going away and it even shows up on my desktop so my guess is that it's a dead pixel. I've never noticed one before so I didn't know they could be this big right? When I have a black screen as the background I can see the red light flickering and it even flickers during games. Since sort of close to centre of the screen it's like staring at cross hairs in an fps game. Now i'm freaking out over this so I was wondering if this thing is permanent or is just struggling? I notice that it does flash a lot and tends to light up the surrounding area on a black screen. Are dead pixels suppose to be bright red dots?

Ok my guess is that this is a stuck pixel. Apparently that can happen to? Do they go away over time or am I stuck looking at the red dot for the rest of my gaming days.

Ok it seems that last night if I continued to restart my computer it wouldn't go away. So I had rough sleep thinking about this damn stuck pixel but when I woke up this morning I fired up my notebook and it was gone. So it must of just fixed itself. Hopefully I won't see that again until I am go and old and to blind to notice that.

Stuck pixels can be helped. Dead pixels are worse. Especially if they're in the middle of the screen.

Yea the stuck pixel just came back again right in the middle of a game too. I think it's the same one since it's near the same area. My guess is this is going to continually haunt me for as long as i own this machine.
