It gets pretty hot while playing, yet you want to overclock it?

To answer your question, technically yes, the GPU can be overclocked with nVidia System tools, however there are some issues with the GPU that are thought to be heat-related, so you may wanna hold off.

hehe gears of war is an amazing game. Im running it on max settings @ 1280x800 on a overclocked 8600m gt ddr3! It actually runs cool on my laptop maxing@ 74C. But even with all that i get the stuttering once in a while too. I think its more of a software issue for this game!

I do know if anyone else noticed this, but the shuttering is caused by the HARD DRIVE. GoW is based on the Unreal Engine which streams textures in on the fly results in shuttering if the HD could not load the textures fast enough. If you change the texture setting from Highest to High you would noticed a lot less shuttering, because the textures loads faster. :)

Thanks Magnus72.Even though I couldn't get it to work that way..lol
But I did finally get it to work, I tried the games file and guess what it was right there with all my other games for some reason. The game looks a little out of place next to Solitaire and Chess.
Anyway it was with all those other games clicked on it and pressed play and it worked...YES!
The game looks and plays great even after getting my *** kicked in the first level, but at least it works that way.Never played the 360 version so this should be a very nice treat.
Don't ask me why I tried the games folder, just plain luck!!
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
