From what I have heard you were supposed to preorder before the BETA began in order to get a key.
Otherwise, the other only surefire way to get a key would be to preorder from STEAM. -
^^yup. beta keys were sent out a couple of weeks ago.
keys were dispatched by email the day before the beta went live. not sure what happens if you ordered after that date. give them a few days to process your details or phone them and ask. -
gonna give them a call see what they say but if that's true gonna cancel the gamestop order and order from steam.
how does steam give out the keys instant or have to wait for the email?
they also should take the beta off the page if it was ony for the orders before beta. -
IIRC, it was pretty much instantaneous with Steam. Pre-order and you get the beta in your games list. But I cancelled. I wasn't real thrilled about the gameplay to pay $50 for it at least. (I go the Barnes & Noble $19.99 sale for original edition, not Limited Edition).
-
hmm might just cancel gamestop than and go threw steam tho i would miss out on the preorder weapon but owell...
-
Well, i preordered it from steam like a week ago and got my key the same time, so i dont think you need to preorder it before the beta started. Same was with Aion, so im pretty sure to be honest
-
Steam I believe is the only one that offers the beta key at any point. Other stores you had to order before the beta. With Steam you get six upgrades too. Although if BC2 is anything like BF2 as far as quickly as you get promoted, getting six upgrades won't take you more than 40 hours or so probably.
-
If im not mistaken a lot of sites, gamestop included problem advertise that they hand access to beta if you preorder, if you needed to preorder before the beta started then it would be false advertisement IMO. I still believe he is going to get the key in the email in 1-2 days max, if not a call is in order.

like htwingnut ive also cancelled my order. wasnt impressed even though its only the beta. might buy it one day for the single player but not the multi.back to mw2

3rd order cancel here. the game just wasn't very good.
didn't leave me in awe, which would have been great. an epic, realistic, intense, battlefield was all i wanted.
instead, it was more about washed out graphics, weird, unnatural movement... and the whole feel of the game was off. -
I know Bad Company is supposed to be different from the traditional Battlefield Series (1942, BF2, 2142), but it does have the Battlefield moniker. I also don't think they did themselves any justice by ignoring the PC with the release of the original.
One thing extremely disappointing is the lack of the prone position. In the official developer log in the forums, they basically said prone WILL NOT BE IMPLEMENTED despite the fact that was the number one complaint about the game design choices. That tells me what they think of the customer. -
To be honest im happy theres not a prone feature in this game, its like asking for more camping, especially with such a large maps. From what i know the beta is a console port but the retail game will be optimized for pcs and wont be a port.
I have to say that im really enjoying bad company 2 more than Mw2 (which im like 5-6th prestige atm, so yea i spent some time playing the game, with a 2+ k/d ratio) you cant really just spray in the game like you do in mw2 since it takes like 10+ bullets for someone to die. As for the sniper, truly wonderful, gotta love the realistic aspect of it (gravity), it actually takes some skill to hit someone, especially when they are moving...
Not to mention the whole vehicles aspect. No one man army in that game which is good -
I'd swear there was some cheating going on already though. One shot kills all the time. -
Canceled my pre-order yesterday, I would prefer a quality game with P2P over a bad game with dedis..
-
I liked the BC2 demo, though it was a poor representation of the game and didn't leave a super impression either.
But then again, even the AvP demo left a mixed impression... but I was expecting much more on that one. -

Might as well chime in and say I also canceled my preorder a few days ago. The gameplay was somewhat off in the BC2 BETA. Hopefully the final version will be better, if so I will buy it after release and after some reviews have come in.
-
The thing about BC2 is, as of right now, their is no game besides CSS that has any competitive gaming value.
With the demise of COD4 and the fail that is MW2, we are hoping that BC2 can deliver in the RTM build so we can get some competition going -- outside the realm of any Valve game.
I just hope that it is optimized more so that I, and others have a fighting chance during competition. -
hmm canceled the order just now but went on steam now and it it doesint say anything about beta now??
never mind steam gave the beta and the key even tho they dont say beta on the buy page anymore so they might be taking it down or runing out of keys soon. -
Not sure about cheats yet, although as with all the games im sure they started developing some, but dont forget most players came from older versions of BF series so they are quite good
If im not mistaken the beta ends at 28th so theres only 15 days to enjoy the game (beta)
just ordered Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from gamestop but
