This isn't about software or graphics card but...

What's the purpose of having the fn key on the bottom left? I'm in the market for a laptop right now and any notebook that does NOT have a ctrl key on the bottom left is an immediate turn off.

I've searched a few posts, and it seems I'm not the only one turned off by this. So then my question is - why do some manufacturers still design a laptop keyboard with something other than ctrl on the bottom left? Is there any advantage for this? I feel like many lose out on business just because of silly people like me who can't stand fn key on the bottom left.

    hey man,

You can download an app which disables/switches key inputs. Meaning that even tho the key says "fn" with just a small tweak you can get it to function as a ctrl button

I use an external USB keyboard so that my laptop's keyboard doesn't get dirty, so I guess having the fn key on the left does not bother me that much.

Could you link/refer me to such applications?

Still curious as to why some (if any) prefer fn on the bottom left.

Cant switch the FN key with software its a hardware linked key.

You may just be able to get it to do double function as a control key via software, not sure though.
