THANKS FOR HELP!!![]()
btw both computers have almost identical procesors (2.2 ghz santa rosa) and ram, screen size, memory, etc.

go for Asus with 8600GT card, for future DX10 gaming.
-
but i've heard that the 7950 GT still outperforms the 8600 even though it has dx10
-
that is true, but what he's saying is the 8600GT would future proof your laptop.
What you can hope for is that once DX10 matures, that alone will improve performance. -
true, but it really comes down what you want out of the game. if I were you I would go for 8600 just for sake of being able to run true DX10 games in the years to come, that's just me.

Go with the Sager 5790, because it's more powerful.
DX10 isn't worth it on mid-range cards. From the benchmarks and experiences from people who have 8800 desktop cards, enabling DX10 (whether in Lost Planet, Call of Juarez, or Company of Heroes) can drastically lower performance. With the 8600M GT, you'd likely have to run it in DX9 anyway just to keep the framerate up.
I'm personally getting the 5790, because I'd rather play Crysis with high/max settings in DX9 than medium settings with DX10. -
Depends,
Can you wait?
The Sager NP5790 might come with the 8700 or 8800 by the end of the summer.
If not check out dx 10 vs dx 9 and if you REALLY want to have the dx10 effects get urself a 15.4" with the 8600GT
It's just a waste of space if you have a 17" with a mid-range card :/ High-end or nothing!!
laptop newbie plz help
