i have a sony ar350e and have 2 days to return it. it's to bulky and heavy, but it's perfect for the horse racing replays i view over the internet. it has a 7600 grafic card which allows me to see all the details clearly. does any one know anything smaller that will give me the same effect?

I believe the best graphics card currently out that is for sub-17"ers is the 7700 Go 512mb version found on Asus and other laptops (14"-15.4").

if your going for something with a good gpu thats smaller than a 17" i would recommend a asus
asus G1 or the V1 where the former is more towards gaming with flashy lights and all and has the best price to features ratio in the market now whereas the v1 is a bit costly is bit nore sleeker better constructed and also sports a spill proff keyboard and slightly better build quality and is towards the business side its a few 100$ expensive but the extra100$ or so im sure is worth it
also note that both of them have geforce 7700 cards or equivalent which are a tad bit better than the card you own right now
but also make sure that you are comfortable with 15" screens coming from a 17"

The best you can find for a sub-17" notebook will be the mid-range (128-bit mem interface):
    - nVidia 7700
    - ATI X1700

Those are on notebooks such as:
    - Asus A8J
    - Asus G1
    - Asus W2P

Unfortunately at the moment there are no high-end 256-bit mem interface videocards for sub-17" notebooks.

    I'm pretty sure the W2P is a 17" notebook.

The Asus G1, V1JP, and A8JS are definitely notebooks to look into. The first two are 15.4", whereas the A8JS is a 14" notebook. The specs on the A8JS are absolutely amazing, except its battery life is sub-par. If you want to go around saying, "I have the most powerful 14" laptop in the world," buy the A8JS.
