Interesting. I don't know if FS is available in Canada though.

Also try the Gateway NX860XL or the Dell E1705. Toshiba P105-S921 is another option.

Yea that's a very nice configuration. I heard that you can upgrade you CPU to a Core Duo 2 if you have a notebook which currently supports Core Duo CPU's through means of off course buying a Core Duo 2 cpu and then flashing the bios. Not entirely sure about this however.

About the x1800 vs the 7900 Go, I'd put my money on the 7900 Go, have a look at this Benchmark site, the site is in german but the numbers etc aren't :)

Maybe under a different name, I'm looking at FS.com and I don't see America / United States listed on their site.

I wouldn't trust Dell "quality" if that is what they call it, is there a reseller for Sager in canada? I wish I could be more help on this category but I am not to familiar with Canadian resellers :(

    Sager ships to Canada:
    www.SagerNotebook.com

Eurocom.com sells the same machines but are largely overpriced.

I'd pick the ram that's closest to the FSB on my CPU so that would be 667 Mhz in case of the Core Duo, but overall you shouldn't see much difference.

The 7900 GS should be good for a year or 2-3, keep in mind that next year DirectX 10 will be out and the 7900 Go doesn't support it, no card does at this time.

When it is released most likely games will still support the 7900Go you just won't be able to use all the features of Dx10. Basicly it will last until Dx10 cards becomes common, which I think is a good 1.5 years off and then some time after that. At the moment it's one of the best cards you can buy and it will be good for a while just as with the desktop gpu's.
