How many notebooks actually exist that include 9800m gs/gt/gtx?
I'm only aware of the Clevo m80tu, Gateway p-7811 FX, Alienware m15/17, and Dell xps m1730...are there any others?

Those are the only ones I know of... I'm sure Dell will come out with updated XPS machines with 9800 series sometime soon.
-
am i mistaken or do the new MSI GT627 series have them (there are two versions, one with a 2.2ghz and one with a 2.4 and BlueRay drive)......
Mine, the latter, has the NVIDIA GeForce 9800m GS -
ASUS G50Vt-X1 has the 9800m gs......
-
Toshiba's Qosmio line.. Not all of them, but there are models with 9800m GTS Sli and other models with 9800m GTX... Some Asus models like some of the G50 line... And IIRC the 18'' HDX HP has a 9800 (or it was a 8800??)

The 8800M GTS/FX 3600M is an underclocked 9800M GS.
The GTS 160M is the same as the 9800M GTS.
The 8800M GTX is the same as the 9800M GT.
The GTX 170M (haven't seen this in any models yet) is an overclocked 9800M GT.
The GTX 260M is an overclocked 9800M GTX.
The GTX 280M/FX 3700M is an overclocked 9800M GTX w/ 16 more shaders. -
I was under the impression the 9800M GTX is the exact same in clocks and specs as the 260M, except the 260M was a die shrink?
I don't understand why the 9800M GTS is a 160M, it should be way up in the number scheme -
Mine !.................

I always thought the 9800m gts was a 260m and 9800 gtx was a 280m...before I even read up on it at all. I still think the 9800m gts performs better than the 260
-
the 9800M GS/GTS has 64 shaders
the 9800M GT has 96 shaders (like the 8800M GTX)
the GTX 260M has 112 shaders (the same specs as the 9800M GTX)
the GTX 280M has 128 shaders -

This is all so confusing. Whatever happened to three variations of a video card: budget, mid-range, and performance?
-
8800M GTS: 500/1250/800
9800M GS: 530/1325/800
9800M GTS: 600/1500/800 -
o I'm sorry I read the 8800m gts as a 9800m gts..
-
dont forget sager 9262

Not sure about the policies here but isn't this considered a necro?

Nvidia right now its sorta like
9200-9400
9500-9600
9800
I wasnt sure where to put the 9400 but it seems entry level. 9800M GS and GTS are the same except clocks but the GT is different with more shaders all together.
Back in the day ATi was like x300 x700 x800/x850 then x1300 x1600 x1900 but ive lost track since then. -
For current-gen ATI:
HD4330-HD4530
HD4570-HD4670
HD4800 series
Didn't know exactly where to cut off low-end from midrange since 4530 and 4570 are similar... but I think this is mostly accurate. -
most ATI laptops still use the 3xxx generation
-
Does anyone know the 2xx equivalent of the 9800m gts card?
-
I think ati has a powerful x2900xt but unfortunately it isnt for notebooks i believe.
-
The x2900 was Ati's biggest mistake. It was a massive 512 bit card, so a mobile version would never happen.
-
motok, I think the 9800M GTS is the 160M.
I believe it should have been 200M or something but oh well. -

The next major lineup change will probably occur this fall at the earliest though Nvidia is talking about the 300 series being 2010 which is odd with DirectX 11 coming out late in the summer of 09.
