177.98 are BETA drivers and that can be the cause of over heating your GPU

You might also want to get a can of compressed air and clean out your vents.

I'm using 177.92 (xtremeg) drivers. After playing about an hour of GRID, my GPU temp is 64*C.

I just did, and I clean my vents on a regular basis. temps went up by 6C only because of the new driver (after a system reinstall) and you cant compare temps between different laptops, mine is a 14in and is known to run hot. 95C on average without cooler on stock drivers

For me, ever since the 169.04/169.09 drivers I've never seen any noticeable benefit to newer drivers. Also, according to my temperature monitors most of these drivers run hotter, around 10C more than the 169.04. It's probably a misreading since my laptop doesn't really feel any cooler with these drivers, but performance-wise I haven't really seen any improvements with my 8400M GS from then to now. Give the 169.04 a try.

for being un utterly weak card you would assume it would be semi cool? guess this Nvidia problem si affecting the lower end cards a bit more.

lol my card is within the affected range, if I dont manually kick the fan up and run it with a cooler. 95-100c was quite common
