a game thats vwry similar in terms of play is star wars empire at war, its $29.99, and plays well on an x1300, bfme2 runs okay for me at low res/ medium settings, till things heat up and you got a huge battle going, then its a slideshow, and its still a slide show even at the lowest possible settings

It may dip in price once the expansion pack hits the shelves. But for now you'll be paying full price. It is quite a new game after all.

BTW, Battlefield is a very fun game once you get into it, I've been playing for months.

The expansion (entitled Rise of the Witch King) comes out on November 28. You can read about it here: http://pc.ign.com/objects/844/844907.html

You should have decent setting, nothing spectacular. And it should run smoothly too.

BFME II didn't have a good storyline, that is my opinion. The first one was related with the movie and the books so it made some sense, but this one is like...weird. None-the-less it is a pretty cool game, especially now you can build anywhere you want and not restricted to the stupid circles.

I'm not sure about you, but I play a lot of games through lan, so I prefer BF2 over BFME II.

I used to be a mad LOTR fan. I nearly had all the LOTR games ever released, even the crappy War of the Ring (Sierra) game. I used to play the BFME LOTR series all the time but it soon became tedious. Hardly any strategy and the only win was to build a huge army and invade in one huge horde. Heroes became too overpowered and this is where they made a huge difference in the end game where other units are useless. Oh yeah, anything that has flaming arrows pwns all.
