    hi guys
recently i have shifted from win vista to win 7 ultimate on hp dv5t.everything thing is fine except i am having low fps in all games, although 3dmark 06 score is the same as before.
i am using the same driver 186.81 in win 7 which i used in vista.here are fps of games in vista and 7.

    1.dirt
    win vista= 24 fps
    win 7= 21 fps

    2.crysis
    win vista= 26 fps
    win 7= 22 fps

    what could be the problem?

    >.> technichally you had low fps before you changed over to windows 7. Try a different gpu driver. The fps are to close to be blamed on the OS alone.

186.81 or 82 are the best currently. im on a dv5 too (with a 9200m gs) and i thought performance actually went up. you checked you have changed the power settings to performance since the update?

Did you use the upgrade option or did you clean install? I know a few people have had issues with doing the upgrade, FPS wise.

Check your idle CPU usage in Taskmanager.

well this is very confiusing to me also.i shifted to win 7 in order to have better performance in games but this has not been the case, although the performance is fine but the loss of 3 to 4 fps is apparent in every game when compared to vista.
i have overclocked 9600m gt using rivatuner so may be there could be problem with this or may be dx9 performance is not as good in win 7 as compared to vista.so there could be no of reasons.
as for as idle cpu usage is concerened it normaly stays below 15% when not doing any task.
