sorry for double posting this from another thread but i do really need help.

specs is on my sig. im just wondering if any of u guys that also has the m5750/m5790 and x1800 observe low fps on games. i currently have the omega drivers 7.4 installed. the driver has a custom fps counter which runs when games are played.

i dont know where to compare this but when running company of heroes(maxed out) i get around 22-30 fps and on need for speed most wanted (also maxed out) i get around 25-35 fps.

for me, this output seems so low for such a high end GPU and it bothers me a lot. can someone confirm this for me? thanks

actually i think thats about normal, x1800 is a generation old GPU and most likely is comparable to the 8600M GT. 22-30fps seems about right for the 8600M GT on maxed settings.

if i'm not mistaken, the mobility X1800 performs worse than the desktop 7600GT(the last generation mid-range card), so I think this level of performance is normal

Its just the fact that games are getting too graphicly intensive for even good mobile GPU's. Its anoying i know, but thats the way it is.

i don't think that is the direction that games are going in general.

i am pretty sure that there were just a few / several games released all at once that could have used a little more optimization and driver support.

some games aren't coded as well. remember that most wanted was released on the 360, xbox, ps2, etc
