Hey I had some issues the other day playing a video through and hdmi cord to my tv. the fps seemed really low and the video was a little choppy, I'm not sure why its doing that I was running media player classic with a 720p video I know my graphics card can handle it, its a Radeon 5650 and it plays perfect when I am just using the laptop display any thoughts? thanks

Try updating your drivers (yeah, I know, most people suggest this as a first thing to do--sometimes it helps). If that doesn't help, then I have to ask:
Is your HDMI cable some no-name brand $1 junk you got off of some third-rate online supplier that isn't HDMI "spec" compliant? (By that, I mean, the cable should tell you what version of HDMI spec it can support. It can be 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.3a, etc). Any lower than "1.3", I would highly suggest you not touch or buy... and if you do have a non-compliant HDMI cable, that could be another culprit.
For the record, don't buy Monster cables. Get HDMI cables from Monoprice for a couple of bucks + shipping, you'll save your wallet from being ripped off by Monster, and still get quality HDMI cables that should be 1.3a compliant.
