I understand that the machine is overpriced, I'll start with that before anything. I got it simply because it was a gift and price was no issue.

My issue is fps. I can set everything to max settings and get great quality with about 20fps. I can, on the other hand, turn everything to LOWEST settings (and even lower resolution) and still get, you guessed it, 20fps. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this issue? This issue is mainly true for Heroes of Newerth, and I hope not for Starcraft2 when it releases. Specs below:

Win 7 64x Home Prem (OS)
    i5-540M 2.53GHz (3.06Ghz Turbo Mode, 3M cache) (CPU)
    6GB Memory (1x 2GB, 1x 4GB DDR3) (RAM)
    ati mobility 5850 hd 1gig GDD5 (GPU)
    360gb 7200 rpm (HDD)

    Thanks in advance,
    Anthony

Thats weird, cuz you have decent specs. Try updating video drivers and check temps to see if its overheating and underclocking.

i actually feel the new line of alienware computers are fairly priced. but yeah, update video drivers and make sure you're not running on any battery saving modes.

Yeah, I actually think the issue lies with 64 bit driver for this gpu. I think they aren't that great. I'm considering trying the 32bit os just to see if the drivers are supported better.

I, however, will lose my lovely 6 gigs of RAM.

    What is stealth mode?
