Well its down to the line now and I need a computer by January 10th. Xotic pc is saying the np5792 will start shipping at late december, but they can't be anymore specific on ship dates. I had ordered a m9750 the other day but now Its so very tempting to just cancel the order.
Couple of questions before I do though. Does anyone have any experience with the newere games and a m9750 such as UT3, bioshock, Crysis? I've seen the testing review now for the rocks version of the np5792 and it was pretty impressive, but is it worth the risk of not haveing a laptop by January 10th "Whitch I absolutely must have"?

Lol, have you ever checked out the Alienware threads on delays in phases? You'll be lucky to get that m9750 by Jan 10th to be honest. Unless you ordered it a few weeks ago.

And you can be in phase 5 for 3 months. That still doesn't get you your m9750 by January 10th.

In terms of performance the 5792 is superior to the m9750...plain and simple. Tests are showing that the 8800GTX = 2x7950GTX's. And its DX10.

Processor: Winner 5792 (2.8 extreme will be available with the 8800GTX)
    FSB: Winner 5792 (800Mhz vs 667Mhz)
    Ram: Tie
    Video Card: Winner 5792
    HDD: Tie
    Style: Tie
    Screen: Tie
    Price: Winner 5792

If they can get you the 5792 by January 10th, that would be the way that I would go.

I'm saying that you should talk with both Alienware and with Xotic. Get a definitive answer. Go with what best fits your needs. The m9750 is a bit overpriced in my book. The 5792 is a newer, and better platform.

If you just have to have a cheapie notebook look at the ones in the Tech bargin section that I have posted. $399 for a notebook to get you by until the 5792 is available. You'll still wind up a bit cheaper than going with a m9750 atm and you'll more than likely be happier in the long run.

go7950GTX is history by now, go with the 8800m instead. The trend we see now is games use more and more shaders. 8800m beats the crap out of 7950GTX, just look at the equivalent in the desktop world which beats the crap out of the highest end 7 series card.

What I mean is the 8800m has much more raw shader power than the 7950GTX.

good choice. seems like alienware is trying to clear their 7950gtx inventory for the new 8800gtx.

7950 GTX is still a good card, but I would never buy one now when you can get a 8800m GTX.

Personally I´m going to sell my desktop 8800GTX and jump another year ahead of notebook gaming by buying the desktop 9800GTX or whatever it will be called/named :)
