i have read that the max pre-rendered frames under win xp is 3 since it is dx9 but under vista and dx10 you can increase that higher and i was wondering of anyone knows the answer?

I dont recommend to increase the number more than 2-3.... since it can actually give you negative performance depending on the game you are playing.

check the tweaks for your game to see if it is better to mess with the pre-rendered frames or not.

I recommend to start with www.tweakguides.com

i am actually trying to combat sli microstutter with this game and reading on that i should increase the max pre-rendered frames to smooth it out but need to know if win xp allows more than 3 :)

i know in the nvidia control panel it allows up to 8 but not sure if anything above 3 works for xp.
